* The goal of the project was to find ways and to demonstrate how sustainable lifestyles can be formed to the advantage of a sustainable development. A further important goal was the model introduction of the of the agenda 21 (Local agenda 21) and the results of the study sustainable Germany in the region (Regional Sustainability Strategy) of Altmühltal Nature Park . The Altmuehltal Project was selected 1995 by the German National Committee as contribution of the Federal Republic of Germany for the European Nature Protection Year 1995 and was under the patronage of the Federal President (1994-1999).
