Francis of Assisi Academy for the Protection of the Earth
to the homepage of the Francis of Assisi Academy for the Protection of the Earth. Our academy is an international scientific organisation dedicated to further promoting knowledge and implementation of sustainable development.
Our mission is "to conserve, protect and restore the health and integrity of the Earth's ecosystem" (RIO DECLARATION ON ENVIRONMENT AND DEVELOPMENT).
In other words, the academy's purpose is the protection of our Earth for future generations. We support the change to a global sustainable development with innovative, ethical and scientific projects.
The Academy was founded in the European Nature Conservation Year 1995 at the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt (Germany) with support of the Council of Europe and the Student Convent of the university.
The purpose of the academy is the promotion of education, science and research for the conservation of the earth and humanity and here especially in the following areas: the conservation of the earth ecosystem, climate conservation, conservation of biological diversity, species, nature and enviromental protection, health conservation, environment and development, sustainable lifestyles and economic fashions, as well as ethics, religion, society and justice under the model of a sustainable development (Constitution Articel 2).
The Academy is founding member of the "European Christian Environmental Network" and involved in different other networks. Please browse through this website to obtain further informations about our work.
